Be a Marshal

South Leeds Lakers host three large races each year, which require lots of marshals & other volunteers. If you can help please get in touch. All races are held in Middleton Woods, with race HQ at South Leeds Stadium.
Wednesday 9th July 2025, time TBC - Yorkshire Veterans Grand Prix Race
December 2025 (usually a Sunday) - South Leeds Bah Humbug 10k
January 2026 (usually a Sunday) - West Yorkshire Winter League Race

A team of volunteers from South Leeds Lakers had a great time working at the 2023 Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon/Half Marathon. They were based at Headingley Stadium & were responsible for the Half Marathon bag drop.
​
On Sunday 22nd of October 2023 twelve South Leeds Lakers gave up their Sunday morning to give out medals & water at the finish of the Leeds Abbey Dash. See photos here. We were back in 2024 to take on bag drop duties.

WE NEED YOU!
Run For All has offered us a club takeover in the first mile of the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon & Half Marathon (Headingley Stadium to Hyde Park Road, approximately 07.05-10.30am) on Sunday 11 May 2025.
Shelly will be there on the day & will need a minimum of 15 volunteers for the mile-long cheer section. In return, you will receive a free entry into another Run For All event (10k or half), a goody bag & a chance to earn those all-important London Marathon volunteer points (the latter is for affiliated members only). What's not to love. To register your interest please contact Shelly (club secretary).​
